VA Weight Loss Solution

As a VA you know what it’s like to be at home, perhaps by yourself, sitting at your desk and working hard day after day…
It can get kind of quiet sometimes. Now, I enjoy quiet as much as the next person, but sometimes it’s just TOO quiet. When that happens, I listen to some great music. I usually turn on my (low-tech) radio and listen to Charlie (105.1 FM). They say they “play everything” and they get pretty close, but I called in asking for Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood”, and so far I haven’t heard them play it
I’m going to try “Little Diesel Drivin’ Devil”, but I doubt if they’ll play that, either.
Anyway, besides getting you ‘in the mood’ to work, listening to music can help you burn calories. Well, just listening won’t burn many calories, but with the right music you can lose weight doing the shoulder and butt wiggle. Really! You know – when a great song starts playing (the one you give a 95 cause it has a great beat and it’s good to dance to – for those American Bandstand boomers) and your shoulders and butt start wiggling? You are burning extra calories, my friend. It’s even been scientifically proven.
Add in a little line dancing when they play “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and you’re on your way to losing a dress size!
Just don’t try this with classical music, cause that stuff will put you to sleep right on your keyboard…
What kind of music do you listen to while working? (And how many calories does it burn an hour?)
