Butt Wiggle Weight Loss Program

I’ve gotten a number of emails about my butt wiggle weight loss post (well, maybe 1 email) so I thought I’d “flesh out” the program, so to speak.

Virtual Assistants tend to sit on a chair in front of the computers, A LOT. This leads to a condition known as “VAST”, or Virtual Assistant Sluggish Tush. If your butt is numb when you finally get out of your chair, you’re probably a VAST victim.

If you’re one of those amazingly in shape VAs who sit on a balance ball while you work (and probably does bicep curls with your laptop while waiting for a report to print), you can ignore this post. You have other problems that I won’t be discussing in this post. :-)

This post is for those of us who can sit for hours moving only our fingers on the keyboard, occasionally reaching for a file, or a doughnut. Your numb butt is calling out for help!

Here’s what you do:

  1. Turn on some rockin’ tunes.
  2. Start your shoulders moving up and down (ala Tina Turner) to the beat if you can manage it, or by your own beat – no-one’s watching :-)
  3. Wiggle your butt in the chair. Start slowly and gently to begin with – you don’t want throw out your back from the unaccustomed movement.
  4. Now combine the shoulder shrug with the butt wiggle.
  5. Rev up both movements until you’re in danger of falling out of your chair.

That’s it! You’re doing the Butt Wiggle Weight Loss Program. Do this for 10 songs throughout every day and I’ll guarantee you’ll have more energy, less numb butt, and no more VAST!

    Thank you Melodee for fleshing out this post. So true, it brought a smile to my face and an urge to wiggle.
    When I started my VA biz 6 years ago, I’ve heard of the dreaded “VA Spread” where some parts of the body tend to spread out from just sitting down in front of the computer. I’ll get out my rockin’ tunes and try out your program. :-)

    I can’t tell you how happy it made me feel to see a picture of one of those models sitting on one of those balls with a banned symbol slapped over the top.

    Let’s get real here, Emma. Don’t we all hate those models who can sit on an exercise ball and look like they enjoy it? I say we slap a banned symbol on their foreheads :-)

    Ohh yes, and what rubs the salt in is that they clearly don’t need to do anything like that any way. But it could start a worrying trend – if we ban them, next on my list is the models in face cream adverts who are clearly 12 years old and probably don’t even know how what a wrinkle is, let alone have any. (Disappears into a fantasy of having banned symbols printed onto stickers, running into adverts shoots and slapping them on models foreheads, laughing maniacally).

    Losing weight is definetly hard work.I use to overeat,but have found alot of strenght in keeping it under control.Since then, the feeling of success I felt by sticking to my plan to loose weight and stop over eating, has kept me motivated.

    i easily Loss Weight by just avoiding a high carb and foods high in saturated fats. exercise is also very important in losing weight that is why i did cardio

    Weight Loss can be achieved easily through exercise. You should also consider a healthy and balance diet that is free from saturated fat. Avoid sugary foods too.

    The most effective way for Losing Weight is exercise. You just do some cardio workout everyday like jogging and running for miles. That would effectively burn the fats in your body.

    When you are trying to lose weight, the best way to do it is still by proper dieting and exercise. Avoid taking slimming pills at all cost, they do more harm than good.
